Representation of young people in the media.

London riots 2011, was a moment to when all young people were categorised as one. The main headlines to each news did not specify which young people but all. The picture on the right shows a young person to be held down by police, this automatically makes the young person be seen as a culprit and to those that read that newspaper would be a lot older generation stereotyping young people negatively. The headlines state 'poorer, younger, less educated' this has a negative impact on how the readers view young people.

Representation of young people - Pitch Perfect

Pitch perfect is a well know movie with a target audience of young people around the age of 13 and above, this movie represents young people with mixed characters in different lights. the beginning of the trailer starts off with a singing contest about 'sex' something that stereotypes young people. when the song starts with the lyrics 'Im perfectly good at it' this shows young people enjoy this and thats what they mostly do in the sense of enjoyment. This stereotypes young people in a negative light. The movie includes characters with different personalities some more quite than others. However, this trailer shows young people in college/university as people that drink and have sex. Through the dialogue it is visible that this is something that is common.

Single page layout

This article was found, gives a clear view without reading it to what the topic is and who it is about. Even though my article needs to be a double page spread, this helps me to understand what type of layout I could use with the description i need to add. In addition it shows the types of images I could use and the different types of shots needed to be taken. it links well with the topic i have chosen for my magazine.

Double page spread

This is a double page spread taken from the inside of a bridal magazine. It shows the various images used of the bride, however there isn't much description and the main focus of the page is the images and the makeup used contrasting with the outfit. There is a close up of the eyes and two shoulder up images of the brides to show the same bride with a 'hijab' muslim headscarf showing the different ways the artist can dress the bride.

There is a quote which is a different colour and font to the rest of the text to make it stand from the rest.

Double page spread

This is another a double page spread of yet again the Asian fashion, this gives a whole new idea in mind to what my double page spread should look like. A picture that grabs the audiences attention straight away however, still capturing the image that to what the magazine is based on. They made it clear straight away to the topic of the magazine by mentioning in the title 'Wedding'. The text is all in one font apart from the heading and the subheading (the parts that they want the audience to definitely read).
